Founder & Lead Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Kavita Pallod Sekhsaria is the clinical mind and heart behind Brown Couple Therapy, developing and leading the curriculum for all of our offerings. A licensed psychologist with over a decade of experience working with couples, Dr. Sekhsaria combines evidence-based approaches with deep cultural insight to help South Asian couples build strong, connected, and resilient relationships.
She earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from the renowned Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology at Rutgers University and has completed Level 2 Training in the Gottman Method for Couples Therapy. She also brings a rich understanding of Emotionally Focused Therapy to her work.
As both a clinician and an active member of the South Asian community, Dr. Sekhsaria brings a rare and powerful blend of clinical skill and cultural fluency to her work. She is passionate about helping couples navigate the complexities of love, family, and identity—all through a lens that honors who they are.

Jignasa Patel brings nearly two decades of wedding planning excellence to her role as co-founder of Brown Couple Therapy. As the founder of K.I. Weddings, she has guided countless couples through one of the most meaningful—and often most stressful—seasons of their lives. Her passion for creating intentional, joyful experiences now extends beyond the wedding day into the heart of what comes next: the marriage.
With 18 years of hands-on expertise, Jignasa offers a deep understanding of the emotional landscape couples navigate during the planning process. Her unique perspective shapes the design of our retreats and offerings, blending beauty, clarity, and emotional depth into every experience.
At Brown Couple Therapy, she brings her talent for thoughtful curation and her gift for connection to help couples not only plan memorable weddings—but build lasting, thriving relationships.

Brittney is a graduate student pursuing a degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, driven by a deep passion for helping individuals and couples walk in wholeness and build healthier, more fulfilling relationships. With a heart for people and connection, she combines academic training with real-life empathy to support others on their healing journeys.
Recently married to the love of her life, she brings both personal insight and professional dedication to her work. In addition to her clinical interests, she enjoys creating content and building community on social media, where she shares encouragement, relational wisdom, and authentic glimpses of life and growth.
